Book Depository
If you visit The Book Depository using this link: http://www.bookdepository.com/?a_aid=handcraftedgifts we collect 5% of all the money you spend there. So if there is a book you were already planning on buying, have a look at how cheap you can get it here (if it exists, they probably have it in hardcover, paperback, and ebook). Otherwise, here are a few titles we personally recommend: (Click the links to credit us for the sale.)
Pure Wool:
This book will help you to make best use of breed-specific yarns. It talks about how to take advantage of different Characteristics of each breed and has over 20 projects to make with your breed-specific yarns.
We have several of these books available for sale. We can post it together with your order, or on its own.
Fleece and Fiber Sourcebook:
This is one of our favourite books. It's an enormous full colour encyclopedia and has everything you want to know about the fleeces of over 200 animals, from the animal itself to the finished product, and every step in between. We used it to create interesting descriptions on the labels of each of our products, however they are but mere summaries of the pages of information contained within.
The Field Guide to FLeece:
Much like the Fleece and Fiber Sourcebook, but pocket sized (if you have rather large pockets). This smaller size is more suited to reading on the bus or on holiday, or to take with you when you go fleece-shopping. It is also ideal for looking up important details of specific fleeces.
The Spinners Book of Fleece:
Our copy has not arrived yet, but we expect we’ll like it when it does. This one emphasizes different sheep breeds and how to choose a good fleece for spinning. It contains practical information related to selecting the right fleece and how to wash it and spin it into the best yarn.
